This document is part of ubu.global and aims to clearly and transparently explain what UBU is, the risks involved, the service limitations, the mitigation measures we apply, and the relevant regulatory disclaimers.

1) What is UBU?

UBU is a utility digital asset (usage units) earned through measured physical activity (e.g., steps). UBU is not money, legal tender, a bank deposit, electronic money, a security, investment token, or financial instrument. Your UBU balance represents utility points within the UBU ecosystem.

  1. Price and liquidity risk: UBU’s market value may be null or volatile.
  2. Counterparty risk: operations with third parties are subject to their own terms.
  3. Technology risk: technical failures may prevent UBU crediting or usage.
  4. Account/security risk: unauthorized access may lead to loss of UBU or data.
  5. Regulatory risk: legal changes may limit or suspend functionalities.
  6. Measurement accuracy risk: step counting is an estimate; errors may cause adjustments.
  7. Tax risk: users are responsible for complying with tax obligations.
  8. Carbon credit risk: environmental impact depends on third-party standards.

UBU is not available to residents or persons located in Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, the regions of Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk (Ukraine), or any other jurisdiction under comprehensive sanctions by the UN, EU, UK, or US (OFAC).

Availability may also be limited in China (Mainland) and the United States due to local regulations.

UBU or external providers may require identity verification (KYC), proof of residence, or risk assessments before enabling certain operations. Transactions may be withheld or reported for compliance reasons.

See our Privacy Notice. We process account identifiers, email, country, language, activity metrics, and low-granularity health data under consent and service execution bases.

9) CO₂ offsetting (carbon credits)

CO₂ compensation is made through certified carbon credits (e.g., Gold Standard, Verra) via independent providers. UBU does not guarantee price, availability, or fiscal eligibility.

10) Intellectual property and trademarks

Third-party logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners; their display does not imply sponsorship or endorsement.
